February is American Heart Month

American Heart Month is an annual observance in February to raise awareness about heart disease and its risk factors. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States and other countries, and it is essential to educate people about its prevention and management.

We are encouraging everyone at Premier to celebrate American Heart Month by getting yourself motivated to adopt healthy lifestyles to prevent heart disease.  Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States.   This is a disease that touches every family and age group, young and old.  Heart disease claims nearly 700,000 lives a year.  From heart attacks and strokes to high blood pressure, it is a national problem, which is often preventable with lifestyle changes and advancements in technology.

Premier is declaring February Heart Awareness Month and would like to ask you to join us in doing what we can to raise awareness of the importance of a healthy heart.  Lifestyle changes, along with being aware of the warning signs of a heart attach or stroke, will help us all be better prepared for our future.  We encourage all employees to bring attention to heart health in two ways this month:

1):  We are sponsoring a 50/50 raffle, with half of the proceeds going to a special “heart” fund, and half going to the winner.  Tickets will be $3 each or 2 for $5.  We will have tickets also if someone would like to purchase paper tickets.   We will have the drawing for the winner on Friday, March 3rd, 2023.  Just think!  You could win HALF of the money we raise for a great cause!  Buy as many tickets as you like and tell your friends and family about it too.  We are anticipating great participation and promotion from our Premier Family!  Purchase your 50/50 Raffle Tickets below.

2):  On Friday, February 24th, please show your support by going RED!  Wear your red shirt, your red hearts, your red hair…we don’t care, as long as you wear red.  Whoever has the best “Red Outfit” will win lunch on Premier.  Go together as a department or a terminal and come up with a theme and send your pictures in.  Get your locations and drivers involved!  This is a Premier sanctioned event, and we want to really show some love for the cause!  Start planning today!  GO RED PREMIER!
